Directions to Event
Take your favorite route to the 605 freeway. Traveling south, you take the Katella/Willow exit, pass under the freeway and take a left onto Oak St. Traveling north, you take the Katella exit (which is the first exit after the 405 interchange). Very quickly you will need to merge to the left to turn onto Oak St. If you hit Los Alamitos Blvd., you have gone too far. Turn around and go back.

Description of Event
Winter has settled around Lyondemere and the long, frozen days of the yuletide season threaten hunger and desolation of the land. To save his people from starvation before the new year, the Baron will host a Yule Boar Hunt. Come one and all and join the baronies of Lyondemere and Gyldenholt in celebrating Yule. Share the prosperity of these two lands and the warmth of our hearth while we hunt the prized wild boar.
Activities of the Day:
-Boar Hunt- Use skill and cunning to seek out and capture as many boars as you can! Contests,
-Bardic competitions- Lyondemere and Gyldenholt will select their bardic champions. Please notify the event stewards ASAP if you intend to compete. Rules will be published prior to the event.
-Dancing- If you prefer safer activities than hunting wild boar, come and dance the afternoon away!
-Boar’s Head Subtlety Contest- How many ways can you think of to create an edible boar’s head? Choose your favorite idea and create a representation of the theme of the day. The winning boar’s head will receive a prize, and be presented at the head table at dinner.
-White Elephant Gift Exchange: bring a wrapped gift valued at $10 or less if you want to participate.
-Father Christmas- parents should bring a small, wrapped gift with their child’s name on it to be delivered by Father Christmas.
Event Schedule:
10:00 Hall Opens for set up (event staff only)
12:00 Site Opens for general populace
1:00-6:00: Games, Bardic Circle, Bardic Competition, Boar Hunt, Youth Activities, Dancing, Father Christmas and other entertainment
5:30: Court
6:00: Feast
9:00: Hall closes, clean-up
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES: Dinner will be a potluck. This is a change from a prepared feast. Main dishes will be provided by the Barony of Lyondemere. Please bring a favorite dish to share for about ten people, according to the following assignments by mundane last name (participants in the Boar’s Head subtlety contest may use their entry as their contribution to the potluck):
A-F: Appetizers: soups, salads, raw vegetables and dips, bread and butter, cheese, etc.
G-R: Side Dishes ( hot or cold, non-vegetarian, vegetarian, and vegan)
S-Z: Desserts
Please provide a list of ingredients of your dish on a 3” x 5” index card to display so people can check for allergies.
This is a damp site. Alcohol may be consumed at dinner.
