Take your favorite freeway to the 405 and journey to the San Fernando Valley. (From South of the event, thats the 405 North; from North of the event, thats the 5 South to the 405 South) Exit at Burbank Blvd and turn West. The Sepulveda Basin is now to your right (if you cross Sepulveda Blvd, you are going the wrong way). At Woodley, turn right. Look for a sign that bears the legend Japanese Gardens. Turn right towards the gardens. Just before entering the gardens, turn right on the access road that traverses that park picnic grounds. Continue along this road until you reach a traffic circle. The Archery range is on the left, up the hill. Parking is limited up near the range, and overflow parking is available alongside the range, behind the paved lot.

Description of Event
New Date! The much-needed rains came and made the archery range into lake country, so we have rescheduled the event to Sunday, February 21, 2010. We look forward to good weather and hope to see you there!
Archers of Caid, come shoot in honor of our Queen, Kara the Twin of Kelton. Queen's Champion Archery will be sponsored this year by the Barony of Altavia, and held at their local archery venue, Woodley Park. There will be open and crossbow divisions (crossbow is contingent on a minimum of three competitors). Spectators are welcome to come sit in the ample shade under the trees and watch as the archers compete for the honor of being Her Majesty's archery and crossbow champion. Targets and ranges will be varied, in keeping with Her Majesty's wishes.
Throwers: Thrown weapons will begin with a TWIC to narrow the field to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, competitors will battle an armed enemy by throwing all three weapons (knife, axe and spear) to defeat this enemy by hitting the most prevalent killing zones. We will run concurrent with archery--but as always will give archers a chance to compete.
Children (youth competitors included) are welcome at the site, but must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. Pets are allowed in the park area, but not within the confines of the archery range. The site does allow merchants; interested merchants please contact the autocrat directly for details. THIS IS A DRY SITE.
Please make checks payable to SCA Inc/ Barony of Altavia. Adult members $3.00 (Proof of membership is required); Adult non-members are $6.00. Children 3 and under are guests of the Barony.
