Directions to Event
Honor your consort as the next Baron or Baroness of Western Seas by your display of skills in the Arts and Sciences. The Baronial Arts and Sciences Tournament will be held and acknowledged to be held upon receipt of Letters of Intent no later than February 6th. This is to give anyone interested to submit a Research Paper as an entry (research papers are turned in 3 weeks prior to the event for judges to read).
Our Arts and Sciences Competition will commence upon receiving six entrants entering four entries listed in the Arts and Sciences Packet. All contestants must meet the competition requirements as listed below.
For those not entering the competition, there will be games and activities for all to enjoy. We encourage you to bring your favorite games and activities to share with the populace as well. There will also be a light lunch provided by the Baron and Baroness for everyone to partake, and drinks will be available as well.
Requirements for entering Baronial:
-Submit a written Letter of Intent by February 6, 2010.
-Be a paid member of the SCA on the day of the competition and reside in a home that receives the Crown Prints. Membership card, mailing label, confirmation postcard, or other proof of membership must be presented to the Lysts Officer on the day of competition
-Have lived within the borders of the Kingdom of CAID for the past twelve months AND within the borders of the Barony of Western Seas for the past six months
-Have attended three official Baronial events in the past six months. One Baronial Officers\\\' meeting may be substituted for one (and only one) event
Have both an SCA name and device submitted to, or passed, by the SCA College of Arms. The Lysts Officer will verify this with the Baronial Herald
-Be able to attend both your Investiture and Divestiture and be willing and able to serve as Baron(ess) for the entire reign.
-Have a consort of the opposite gender who also meets the above requirements
-Have a 6\\\"x8\\\" lyst board of your device
-Be an authorized heavy weapons fighter (for the fighting competition)

Directions: (From the East or the West)
Take H-1 to Punchbowl Exit if traveling Koko Head. Take H-1 to Vineyard exit if traveling Ewa and turn left on Punchbowl, towards town. Follow Punchbowl Street to the corner of Punchbowl and Beretania Streets, make a right turn onto Beretania Street and stay in the right lane. Go through to the second lighted intersection and turn right onto Queen Emma Street. Immediately after turning onto Queen Emma Street, there will be a driveway on your right. Turn in here and park. Davies Hall is the first building you see before the large cathedral building.
Fees
Site fee: $5.00 for ages 16 and up ($8.00 for non-member). 15 years old and under are free. Please make checks payable to SCA, Inc./Barony of Western Seas.
